Frog Thermometer
In this activity, children will customize and assemble a thermometer shaped like a frog. This fun thermometer will help kids decide whether they need to dress warmly or lightly before leaving the house!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Etape 1.
For this activity, you will need:
- a "weather frog" kit (including the wooden frog shape, thermometer, and large googly eyes)
- acrylic paint and/or paint markers
- acrylic varnish if you want to leave the thermometer outdoors
- strong white glue
- a colored cardstock
- 3 small pom-poms
- a pair of scissors
Etape 2.
Decorate the wooden frog with acrylic paint and/or paint markers.
If you want to place the thermometer outside, feel free to apply a coat of varnish on the frog once the paint is dry.
Etape 3.
Using strong white glue, attach the thermometer to the frog's belly along with the two large movable eyes.
Etape 4.
To give a fun look to the frog, we will add a crown to it.
To do this, cut out a crown from a sturdy 300 g/m2 cardstock and then glue small pom-poms on the tips of the crown.
Then, glue everything behind the frog's head.
