Materials
For this activity, you will need:
- a cotton apron with a pocket
- fabric finger paint
- solid gouache sticks for fabric
- a brush
Step 1
Before starting the activity, protect the workspace with a tablecloth or cardboard... then lay the apron flat on the table.
Brush the child's hand with special textile paint using a brush, then press the hand onto the apron to make a print. Make several prints using different colors but leave the central pocket of the apron blank.
Step 2
Decorate the central pocket using solid gouache sticks for fabric supports.
Step 3
Fill the empty spaces by drawing small patterns with the poster paint sticks.
Let the paint dry for a few hours.
Step 4
To permanently set the colors and achieve machine resistance at 40° iron the apron inside out (without steam) for about 5 minutes.
