Ocean Paintings
Create 5 paintings with a marine theme. In this tutorial, learn to use stencil silhouettes, with foam stamps and acrylic paint, and discover how to create a whole range of color shades with just 3 colors!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Step 1
Place a silhouette (here we have chosen the fish shape) on the cardboard painting surface.
Put some white and blue paint on the palette, and using the foam stamp, apply some paint to the silhouette by gently stamping. Hold the shape while you stamp to prevent it from moving.
Step 2
Swap white and blue paint and cover the entire surface to be painted. Once finished, remove the stencil to reveal the silhouette of the fish.
Step 3
Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the other silhouettes on the 4 remaining cardboard supports, and add a bit of yellow to bring some green shades to the different paintings.
Tips:
Mix colors to create new ones:
- White + dark blue = light blue
- Blue + yellow = dark green
- Blue + yellow + white = light green
- blue + yellow + yellow + white = turquoise
.....etc
