In this Easter tutorial, we will learn how to make the Easter Bunny's carrot car with the children. Through this activity, we will also give a second life to our plastic bottle caps!
This is an activity that will surely entertain the little ones as they can have fun rolling the car!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a carrot car you will need:
- A 25 cm polystyrene cone
- Four large plastic bottle caps (milk bottle...)
- A wooden rabbit
- Two 10 mm googly eyes
- Easter egg stickers
- Orange and mint green paint + a brush
- Green wool
- Skewers
- A white paint marker
- A black permanent marker
- A hole punch
- A cutting board
- A glue gun
- A pair of scissors
- A utility knife
Step 1:
To start, paint the polystyrene cone with orange paint and the wooden bunny with mint green paint.
Let dry for 30 minutes.
Step 2:
Wrap green wool around your hand.
Then cut a small piece of wool, thread it through the inside, and make a double knot to keep the wool in shape.
Step 3:
Cut the wool at the opposite side of the double knot to obtain the tail of the carrot.
Step 4:
Glue the tail beneath the polystyrene cone.
Step 5:
Insert two skewers into the polystyrene cone.
Step 6:
With the smallest drill bit, make a hole in the center of the four milk caps.
Tip: Use a cutting board to avoid damaging your work surface.
Step 7:
Slide the four caps and then cut off the excess skewers.
Step 8:
With a white paint marker, draw the rabbit's belly, the inside of the legs, and the ears.
Étape 9 :
Glue two moving eyes with a hot glue gun.
Step 10:
Using a black fine-tip permanent marker, draw the nose, whiskers, and mouth of the rabbit.
Step 11:
WARNING this step may require the help of an adult.
Using a precision cutter, make a cut of a few centimeters to be able to insert the rabbit into the polystyrene cone.
Step 12:
Finally, stick Easter egg stickers on the rabbit's legs.
Step 13:
And there you have it, all that's left to do is roll the Easter bunny's carrot car!
