The Surprise Sleigh
Discover a Christmas activity where children will create a Santa Claus and his sleigh using a matchbox and wooden sticks!
Easy and fun, this craft can be done with children from a very young age.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make Santa's sleigh you will need:
- a large white cardboard matchbox
- 2 wooden sticks (15.5 cm)
- red and gold paint
- a paintbrush
- small decorative gifts
- reindeer stickers
- a Santa Claus face sticker
- "Best wishes" stickers
- a red caterpillar
- silver rhinestone strips
- adhesive dots
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint the matchbox lid and a wooden stick with red paint.
Paint 2 wooden sticks with gold paint.
Step 2
Assemble the matchbox by folding the larger sides first.
Step 3
Then fold down the smaller sides.
The assembly does not require glue!
Step 4
Stick a Christmas sticker on the side of the box.
Step 5
Decorate the edges of the box with strips of silver rhinestones.
Step 6
Stick 2 reindeer stickers on the front of the box.
Step 7
Stick 2 small gifts on top of the box using adhesive dots.
Step 8
Glue the 2 golden sticks under the matchbox using adhesive dots.
Step 9
Stick a Santa head sticker onto the red stick.
Step 10
Wrap a red caterpillar around the stick to create Santa's arms.
Step 11
Cut the end of the stick with a pair of scissors.
Step 12
Place 2 adhesive dots at the bottom of the stick and then glue Santa Claus onto the back of the matchbox.
Step 13
Hide small treats inside Santa's sleigh!
