Bears with a Pine Cone Basket
For this autumn activity, we will use kraft paper bags to create bears holding a basket filled with pine cones!
An easy craft based on cutting, drawing, and gluing. Ideal for children aged 5 and up!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a teddy bear, you will need:
- A kraft paper bag (12 x 15 cm)
- A half paper mache pot (height: 6 cm)
- Sturdy kraft paper cards
- Mini pine cones
- A fabric bow tie
- Two googly eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- Blue or pink paint + a brush
- Adhesive gel dots
- A black permanent marker
- A pair of scissors
Step 1:
Paint a half-pot made of papier mâché in the color of your choice.
Then let it dry for about 20 minutes.
Step 2:
Peel (or cut) the handles off the kraft paper bag.
Step 3 :
Cut from a sheet of kraft paper :
- Two strips of 2.5 x 8 cm
- One circle of Ø 5.5 cm
- Two ears of 6 x 4.5 cm
Step 4:
Using a black permanent marker, color the inside of both ears.
Step 5:
Stick the ears inside the kraft paper bag with adhesive gel dots.

Step 7:
Using adhesive gel dots, stick on the movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm.
Step 8:
Round one of the edges of each strip of kraft paper, then draw legs with a black permanent marker.
Step 9:
Glue the flaps on each side of the paper bag and then fold them forward.
Step 10:
Glue the half pot onto the bag, then stick the two flaps onto the half pot with adhesive pads.
Step 11:
Fill the pot with mini pine cones.
Step 12:
Finally, attach a fabric bow tie with an adhesive dot.
