Cactus in a Terracotta Pot
Sun, summer, heat, CACTI... this is the theme of this easy craft for children.
Using small terracotta pots, eggs, and styrofoam balls along with a bit of paint, they can create adorable little cacti to decorate the whole house!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make cacti, you need:
- terracotta pots (Ø 4.5 x 4 cm)
- 6 cm styrofoam eggs
- 5 cm styrofoam balls
- green acrylic paint and a paintbrush
- wooden sticks
- googly eyes
- a white paint marker
- 3D rubber flowers
- satin adhesive ribbons
- adhesive dots
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint the eggs and styrofoam balls with green acrylic paint.
TIP: Insert a wooden stick into the egg or ball to paint without getting your fingers dirty!
Let dry for about 45 minutes.
Step 2
Stick on movable eyes with adhesive gel dots.
Step 3
Draw the spines of the cactus with a white paint marker, then place the eggs/balls in the small terracotta pots.
Step 4
Place adhesive dots under the rubber flowers.
Step 5
Glue the flowers to the top of the cacti.
Step 6
Cut pieces of satin adhesive tape about 16 cm long and stick them around the pots for a nice finish.
