Christmas Tree with Corn Flakes
In this Christmas craft activity, we will introduce you to a new way to make a Christmas tree using corn flakes!
The corn flakes are 100% natural and biodegradable and made in France. They are easy to stick on; just dampen them so that even children under 3 years old can recreate this original craft!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a tree you need:
- a polystyrene cone (20 cm)
- a terracotta dish (Ø 10 cm)
- corn flakes
- 2 adhesive rubber stars
- green acrylic paint and a paintbrush
- a pair of scissors
- a glue gun
- a plastic dish
- a toothpick (or a skewer stick)
Step 1:
Paint the polystyrene cone with green paint.
Let it dry for 30 minutes.
Step 2:
Cut about twenty corn snowflakes in half using a pair of scissors!
Step 3:
Fill a bowl with water, then dampen the felt (included with the corn flake packet).
Step 4:
Next, dampen a corn flake by gently stamping it on the felt.
Step 5:
Glue the cornflake onto the cone (wet side against the polystyrene).
As it dries, the cornflake will stick magically.
Step 6:
On a toothpick (or a cut bamboo skewer), stack 2 glittering stars.
Then insert it into the top of the polystyrene cone.
Step 7:
For a nice finish, glue the cone onto an inverted terracotta dish using a glue gun.
