How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Etape 1.
Materials needed to create a dragonfly keychain approximately 10 to 12 cm long:
- 2 meters of paracord
- 2 beads with a hole diameter greater than 4 mm
- A pair of scissors
- A lighter
Etape 2.
Slide the 2 beads onto the paracord, then fold it in half.
Etape 3.
Make the first loop with the right cord as shown in the picture alongside.
There should be about 10 cm between the top of the loop and the middle of the cord.
Etape 4.
Using the left cord, make a loop as shown in the adjacent photo by wrapping the right cord around it, then pull the cord through the inside of the loop to the right.
Etape 5.
Push the beads up to the top of each loop.
Etape 6.
Pass the left cord over the two middle cords.
Etape 7.
Pass the right cord over the other cord and pull it through the inside of the left loop as shown in the photo.
Pull tightly.
Etape 8.
Pull on the bottom cords to tighten the 2 loops located at the very top.
Etape 9.
Make the same knot as in step 7 without tightening it; this will form the wings of the dragonfly.
Etape 10.
Make the same knot in the opposite direction. If the previous knot started with a right loop, then this one will start with a left loop (and vice versa). Then tighten this knot.
Etape 11.
Once the knot is tightened, pull it up to form the first two wings.
Etape 12.
Repeat steps 9 to 11 to create the last 2 wings.
Don’t forget to alternate the braiding, once to the right, once to the left.
Etape 13.
Continue braiding down to the end, alternating every time: once to the right, once to the left, and make sure to tighten the knots well.
Leave a loop of about 1 to 2 cm at the bottom so you can attach your keys.
Cut the excess cord to about 5 mm from the last knot.
Etape 14.
Burn the string for a few seconds using a lighter so that it melts to secure the knot.
Etape 15.
Add a broken metal ring and your pretty dragonfly is ready to be attached to your keys!
