Flower Crown for Mother's Day
In this activity, children will poke beautiful colored flowers into a polystyrene crown to create a gift that will delight mothers for Mother's Day !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To carry out this activity, you will need:
- a polystyrene heart wreath
- adhesive rubber letters
- fabric flowers
- plastic pins
- a wooden skewer
- clip-on butterflies
- a pin attachment
- ribbon
- a pair of scissors
- a hole punch
- a cutting mat
Step 1
Write "happy holidays" on the lower part of the heart using adhesive letters.
Step 2
Select 12 fabric flowers and then make a hole in the center of each one using a hole punch and a cutting mat to avoid damaging the work surface.
Tip: use the hole punch head with the smallest diameter.
Step 3
Decorate the upper part of the heart by poking the flowers into the polystyrene using plastic pins.
Note: our plastic pins are safe for children.
Step 4
Pass a wooden rod through the polystyrene crown.
Step 5
Cut the excess wooden stem with a pair of scissors.
Step 6
Place 2 butterflies on the central stem.
Tip: the butterflies are glued onto clips for easy hanging on your supports!
Step 7
Push a metal clasp between the two "bumps" of the heart and then attach a ribbon so you can hang your creation.
