Discover a gentle and colorful craft where children will enjoy making a small flower pot that can be attached to the fridge or any other metallic surface using a magnet.
Painting, sticker collage, rhinestones, and making small flowers are part of this wonderful creative activity.
This easy-to-make object will also make a splendid gift for Mother's Day !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a flower pot magnet, you will need:
- a half cardboard pot (6 cm)
- paint and a brush
- adhesive rhinestones
- heart stickers
- paper flowers
- wooden skewers
- lightweight modeling clay
- a neodymium magnet
- white glue
- a glue gun
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint the half cardboard pot with acrylic paint and then let it dry for about 20 minutes.
Step 2
Decorate the small pot with a strip of silver rhinestones and a heart sticker.
Step 3
Select 5 "large" paper flowers, place a dot of white glue in the center, and then attach wooden sticks to create the stems of the flowers.
Allow the glue to dry for about ten minutes.
Step 4
Flip the flowers and embellish them by gluing a small flower and a rhinestone in the center.
Step 5
Fill the small cardboard pot with modeling dough.
Note: Count about 8 to 10 grams of dough per pot. We used soft clay because it is very light, which is ideal for making a magnet!
Step 6
Trim the wooden sticks using a pair of scissors and then insert the flowers into the modeling dough.
Step 7
Glue a magnet to the back of the flower pot by applying a generous amount of glue with the glue gun.
Note: You can also replace the neodymium magnet with magnetic tape!
