Required Materials:

- A block of floral foam.

- Freshly cut flowers (from your garden or florist).

- A cardboard box.

- A water container.

- A knife.

- Clear plastic wrap.

Step 1

Adjust the size of the foam: Use a knife to cut the block of foam to the size and shape of your box. The foam should fit snugly to stay in place.

Step 2

Soak the foam in water: Fill a container with water at room temperature. Carefully place the floral foam block on the surface of the water and let it soak naturally. Do not push it to the bottom, as this could create air pockets inside. Allow the foam to absorb the water until it is completely saturated and sinks to the bottom of the container (this may take a few minutes).

Step 3

Protect the cardboard box : place cling film at the bottom of the box, it should extend over the edges so that the box can remain airtight.

Place the foam in the box.

Prepare your flowers: Cut the stems of your flowers and foliage at an angle to enhance water absorption. Remove the lower leaves that may be submerged in the foam to prevent decomposition.

Insert the stems into the foam: Push the stems of your flowers and foliage directly into the foam. Start with the largest and most structural elements, then add the smaller flowers and foliage to fill the empty spaces. Ensure that each stem is firmly inserted to guarantee proper water absorption.
