Montessori: Learning Colors and Counting
Introduce your children to numbers and colors with our new tutorial for creating an educational game!
This game will assist in learning to count and recognizing colors while having fun!
BONUS: Also promote the development of fine motor skills by using a tongs to pick up pom-poms!
An engaging and easy activity for children from the age of 2 years.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To play this game you will need:
- 8 translucent plastic cups
- Large round stickers
- Colored pom-poms (light blue, dark blue, yellow, orange, red, light green, dark green, and pink)
- Washable markers
- A plastic clamp
Step 1:
Stick a large colored round sticker on each cup.
Here we used the 8 colors of stickers available on the sheet.
Step 2:
Sort the pom poms (keep only the colors that match the stickers for easier sorting) and then mix them.
Step 3:
All that's left is to grab the colored pom-poms by hand (or with a tweezers to develop fine motor skills) and sort them into the corresponding cups.
Step 4:
2nd level of difficulty for this game:
Write a number on the cups with a washable marker so that the child places the exact number of colored pom-poms in the cups!
You can then erase the number with your finger and change it as often as you like.
