Punched Giraffe
Engage in a fine motor activity with punched animal cards.
Ideal for gently exercising children's grip using the punching tool (like a pencil), but also for developing concentration by performing a precise and repeated action.
How does it work?
Place a felt mat under the card, then using the punching tool, perforate the printed dots on the drawing. Once the card is pierced, you can color the drawing and frame it !
This activity can be done by children from the age of 4 !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
The Materials
For this activity, you will need:
- A felt mat
- A punch card
- 1 piercing tool
- colored pencils
To frame the picture (optional):
- Colored card
- Sturdy card frame
- 1 tube of glue
Step 1
Place the card on the mat.
Using the punching tool, pierce each point on the card.
Step 2
To check that the card is complete, hold it up to the light and verify that each point allows light to pass through.
Step 3
Next, color the drawing with colored pencils (or markers).
Step 4
Step 5
To display your masterpiece: Use a glue stick to adhere the drawing onto a colored card (dimensions 25 x 35 cm). Then, stick the sturdy frame of your choice onto the colored card to frame the drawing.
All that's left is to showcase your drawing.
