Music Box

To create a music box, you will need:

- a rectangular wooden tissue box

- 5 or 6 rubber bands (diameter: 6 cm)

- 2 wooden sticks (diameter: 4 mm - length: 20 cm)

- multi-surface paint + brush

- self-adhesive soft rubber letters

- rhinestones

- 6 jingle bells (diameter: 1.8 cm)

- strong white glue

- glue gun

Paint the surface of the tissue box with multi-surface acrylic paint and then let it dry for a few minutes.

Once the paint is dry, thread 5 or 6 elastic bands (Ø 6 cm) around the tissue box as shown in the picture on the right.

Slide 2 wooden sticks (Ø 4 mm x 20 cm) between the elastics and the box, placing them on each side of the hole.

If desired, you can slightly shorten the sticks using a pair of scissors.

Glue bells (Ø 1.8 cm) on each side of the hole with strong white glue or with a glue gun for a quick hold.

Once the glue is dry, you can shake the box to turn it into a percussion instrument!

You can then decorate the box with self-adhesive soft rubber alphabet stickers.

Here, we have decorated the sides of the box with the names of the musical notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B

You can also decorate the music box with rhinestones...

Your music box is complete!

Shake the box to hear the sound of the jingles and strum the elastics with your fingers like on a guitar to produce different sounds!

Tips:

Bring the two wooden sticks closer to the opening to get higher sounds.

Move the two wooden sticks away from the opening to get deeper sounds.

You can also position the sticks at an angle to vary the sounds.
