DAS Self-Hardening Clay 1 Kg White

DAS Self-Hardening Clay 1 Kg White

Weight: 1 kg

Its smooth and homogeneous texture is easily shaped with hands, a rolling pin, cookie cutters, or modeling tools. It is ideal for making figurines, ornaments, jewelry bowls, magnets, small characters, decorative objects, or relief elements. Highly appreciated by the general public, families, schools, and creative hobbyists, DAS clay is also distinguished by its low shrinkage during drying. Creations thus retain their dimensions and proportions very faithfully, with much less deformation than many other air-drying clays. Its fineness also allows for the reproduction of imprints, textures, and small patterns with great precision.

Once dry, the clay becomes hard, solid, and durable. It can then be sanded, engraved, pierced, painted, decorated, and protected with a varnish or finishing resin.

How to use DAS Self-Hardening Clay?

Take the necessary amount of clay, then immediately close the packaging to prevent the rest from drying out. Knead the clay for a few moments to soften it and achieve a perfectly homogeneous texture. The DAS clay can then be shaped directly with hands, rolled out with a rolling pin, and cut with cookie cutters, applied around a frame to create sculptures, engraved or textured with modeling tools...

To smooth the surface, use a damp sponge or a slightly wet soft brush on small irregularities. The modeling tools can then be used to carve, trace, engrave, or add textures.

How to paint DAS Self-Hardening Clay?

The white DAS clay provides a particularly interesting clear base for decoration: colors stand out easily and maintain a beautiful intensity. Acrylic paint is the most recommended solution, as it is opaque, durable, and quick-drying, adhering perfectly to the dry clay. It allows for vibrant colors, regular flat areas, or painting very small details. The dry clay can also be decorated with paint markers, particularly useful for outlining, drawing faces, adding patterns, or achieving very precise finishes.

Our advice: Always wait for the clay to be completely dry before painting it.

How to protect a creation made with DAS clay?

Once the clay is completely dry and the painting is finished, applying a finish protects the creation from dust, stains, and scratches. Gloss varnish is perfect for achieving a very shiny, smooth, and almost lacquered finish. Its self-leveling agents create a nice glazed effect that particularly enhances bowls, jewelry holders, magnets, decorations, and small modeled objects.

Warning: A varnish or resin improves the creation's resistance to humidity but does not turn DAS clay into true ceramic. The created objects should not be placed in the dishwasher, immersed in water for long periods, or used in contact with food.
