Talens Ecoline Watercolor Ink: Liquid Color at Full Intensity. Ecoline is not a traditional watercolor: it is a liquid watercolor ink, ready to use and extremely concentrated. Used pure, it provides colors of brilliant luminosity. Diluted, it produces washes of perfect transparency. This explains its lasting success among illustrators, designers, and calligraphers. Brush, pen, nib, ruling pen, airbrush, or directly with a pipette for dripping effects. Usable on all surfaces suitable for watercolor, drawing paper, and cardboard.
Each 30 ml glass bottle is equipped with a built-in pipette in the cap. You can extract exactly the desired amount, drop by drop, to mix a shade on the palette or achieve a reproducible dilution. No more rough mixes and waste.

An Ink That Reactivates with Water
This is the great peculiarity of Ecoline: once dry, it remains soluble. You can therefore resume a work several days later, soften an edge, restart a gradient, blend two areas. A freedom that permanent inks do not offer.
What is the difference with traditional watercolor?
Watercolor in pans or tubes is pigment-based, while Ecoline is a liquid ink based on dyes. The result: much brighter and more transparent colors, ready to use, but less lightfast than pigment-based watercolors.
On what paper to use it?
Any paper suitable for watercolor (minimum 200 g/m², ideally 300 g/m²), thick drawing paper, and cardboard. On paper that is too thin, the ink buckles and bleeds.
