Metal Brush Holder

Metal brush holder: the tool that saves your brushes! A quality brush is expensive, and it's almost never the use that kills it: it's the cleaning. Dried paint at the base of the bristles, loose ferrule, bristles splayed out. This brush holder solves all three problems at once. The helical spring allows you to suspend brushes head down: water or solvent drains instead of stagnating in the ferrule. This is precisely where a brush's lifespan is determined, as moisture trapped in the ferrule swells the wood, dries out the glue, and eventually causes the bristles to fall out. Suspended, the brush dries straight and retains its point.

A cleaning grid at the bottom

This is the heart of the system. The perforated metal grid placed at the bottom of the pot allows you to scrub the brush against the sieve: the paint is dislodged all the way to the base of the bristles, where simple rinsing never reaches. Residues settle under the grid, so the brush doesn't pick them up during the next rinse, and the solvent or water stays clean longer.

Entirely made of aluminum and steel, this brush holder resists solvents: turpentine, white spirit, brush cleaners. It is suitable for oil paint as well as acrylic, gouache, or watercolor, unlike plastic pots, which solvents attack.
