What is Diamond Painting?

It involves sticking small colored rhinestones, called "diamonds", onto an adhesive canvas according to a printed pattern. The final result is a shiny and colorful artwork that resembles a mosaic or a pointillist painting.

What’s included in a Diamond Painting kit

Every area of the canvas corresponds to a letter or a symbol, associated with a diamond color. The goal is to fill in the image by placing the correct rhinestones in the right spots, similar to a paint by numbers... but in 3D and sparkling!

To get started with Diamond Painting, it is recommended to use a complete kit that includes all the essential tools for this activity. First, there is a printed and adhesive canvas featuring the pattern to be created. This canvas is protected by a transparent film that can be gradually removed as you work.

The kit also includes several bags of rhinestones, also known as diamonds, in different colors. These rhinestones can be round or square, depending on the desired effect.

A pickup tool is also provided; it is used to pick up and position the rhinestones accurately on the canvas. For the diamonds to stick to the tool, a small amount of special wax, or sometimes a sticky gel, is used. Just take a small quantity with the tip of the tool before picking up the rhinestones.

Finally, a small grooved tray generally accompanies the set. It allows you to pour a portion of rhinestones, gently shake to flip them right side up, making them easier to pick up one by one.

Start small: prefer a modest-sized canvas; choose cards, small paintings, or jewelry so you don’t get discouraged.

• Select a simple design: avoid detailed portraits or scenes at the beginning.
• Work section by section, gradually lifting the protective film.
