Painting and customizing a wooden letter

The letter presents a particular challenge: its contours. The inner curves of a B, R, or O require a fine brush, and this is where the finish is determined. Two approaches work. Painting the entire letter starting with the edges and finishing with the face gives a covering and clean result. Painting only the face while leaving the edges raw creates an interesting contrast and avoids the delicate work on the contours. A light sanding of the edges before starting improves adhesion and softens the finish. A few points to consider: plan for a spare letter for frequently used letters, check the alignment before fixing anything, and think about spacing, which is often wider than one might imagine on a wall. For a word or quote, mounting on a support makes installation easier and more stable.
