An alcohol marker performs poorly on ordinary paper: the ink diffuses into the fiber, the outlines bleed, the solid areas become uneven, and the color bleeds through to the back. This is the number one frustration for beginners in manga illustration, and it doesn't come from the technique, but from the medium. This paper is specifically formulated for markers.

A smooth and closed surface

The paper is smooth and its surface resists immediate absorption. Direct consequences:

• Outlines remain sharp: the ink does not migrate into the fiber, the line stops where you stop it.
• Solid areas are uniform: the marker glides and deposits color evenly, without streaks or overloads.
• Gradients work: the ink remains workable long enough to be blended with a second marker or a blender.
• You save your markers: an absorbent paper drinks two to three times more ink for the same result.

FAQ

How to detach the sheets?The pad is glued on one side: the sheets detach one by one by hand, without tools.

Can you ink with a fineliner before coloring? Yes. Use a fineliner with pigment ink (like Pigma Micron), which is resistant to alcohol: the line will not dilute when the marker is applied. Let it dry before coloring.

Can you use watercolor on it? No. The surface being less absorbent, water stagnates and washes do not adhere. For watercolor, opt for a 300 g/m² textured paper.
