Using a glass jar, some tissue paper, and pretty stickers, children will be able to create a stunning lantern to give as a gift for Mother's Day.
An original and easy-to-make gift that will delight mothers !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make this pretty lantern, you will need:
- a glass jar + lid (240 ml)
- white tissue paper
- a pair of scissors
- glue varnish
- a brush
- heart stickers
- adhesive lace
- an electric candle
- a photo
- a glue stick
Step 1
Cut about thirty squares of white tissue paper (approximately 3 x 3 cm) and glue them onto the surface of the glass jar with the glue varnish. This will give us a nice "frosted glass" / translucent effect.
Decoupage Technique:
- apply a layer of glue varnish on the jar
- glue a square of tissue paper
- apply another layer of glue varnish on top
- continue this way until the entire surface is covered
Let it dry for about an hour.
Step 2
Decorate the pot with colorful heart stickers.
Step 3
Stick a strip of adhesive lace around the lid.
Step 4
Cut out a circle of about Ø 5 cm from a photo, then glue it onto the lid with a glue stick.
Step 5
All you have to do now is slide an electric candle inside the pot!
Step 6
Once night falls, you will have a lovely light decoration for the home!
