How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a lovely trivet, you will need:
- a white wooden base (15 x 15 cm)
- polished glass mosaics
- mosaic glue
- a mosaic cutting pliers
- precision tweezers
Step 1
Place the mosaics like a puzzle on the wooden support to cover as much surface area as possible.
This step is very fun for children as it requires testing several combinations of shapes and sizes to optimize the space.

This is an overview of a well-filled surface!
Step 3
Once the mosaics are placed, you now need to glue them one by one onto the wooden support!
Tip: Apply a generous layer of glue on each mosaic.
Step 4
Tip: to remove/position the mosaics without moving the others, you can use precision tweezers!
Step 5
Once all the mosaics are glued, you can fill in the small gaps by recutting the mosaics.
For easy cutting, use a special pliers by placing the tip on the edge of the mosaic and then pressing down.
