Using a terracotta pot, dried flowers, and accessories, children will create a lovely gift. They will then personalize the pot with chalkboard paint and draw symbols reminiscent of school, finally planting dried flowers to add a splash of color.
This fun and creative activity allows children to express their gratitude to their everyday heroes.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
For this craft, you will need:
- a terracotta pot Ø 8 cm
- chalkboard paint + a brush
- dried flowers and leaves
- a block of decorative floral foam
- yellow masking tape
- a pick slate
- a white paint marker
- a fine-point black permanent marker
- a pair of scissors
Step 1:
To start, paint a terracotta pot with chalkboard paint while leaving the rim unpainted.
Step 2:
While the pot is drying, unroll approximately 27 cm of masking tape onto a smooth surface, such as the cover of a notebook for example.
Step 3:
Using a ruler and a fine-tip black permanent marker, draw a scale and numbers along the entire length of the masking tape.
Step 4:
Next, wrap the masking tape around the collar of the terracotta pot like this, then cut off the excess.
Step 5:
Using a white paint marker, draw symbols reminiscent of school or simply a nice phrase.
Step 6:
Using a small knife, cut a small square from the foam brick and place it at the bottom of the terracotta pot.
Step 7:
Then plant dried flowers, varying the colors and sizes.
Step 8:
And finally, write "THANK YOU" on a mini chalkboard to stick in the foam!
