With a wooden base, cardboard straws, and some dried flowers, we will create an adorable magnet that will charm moms for Mother's Day!
Thanks to the cardboard straws, children will have fun creating a personalized floral arrangement by inserting dried flowers into the straws. To turn this beautiful object into a magnet, simply attach a magnetic strip to the back of the creation so it can be placed on the fridge. How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Matériel
To make a lovely dried flower magnet, you will need:
- a rectangular wooden base (12 cm)
- a solid gouache stick
- small dried flowers
- message stickers
- adhesive rhinestones
- colored cardboard straws
- nano tape
- adhesive magnetic tape
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Cut a piece of self-adhesive magnetic tape about 8 cm long and stick it to the edge of the wooden support.
Thanks to the magnetic tape, the lovely creation from the children can be displayed on the fridge or any metallic surface!
Step 2
Turn the wooden support over and color it using a solid poster paint stick.
Note: the solid poster paint is highly opaque and dries almost instantly!
Step 3
Stick a sticker with a nice message at the top of the wooden support, then stick a line of adhesive rhinestones just below the sticker.
Step 4
Stick 2 strips of nano tape at the bottom of the wooden support (across the entire width of it).
Step 5
Cut 16 pieces of cardboard straw about 3 to 5 cm long.
Step 6
Stick the straw pieces onto the nano tape, aligning them well along the edge of the wooden support.
Step 7
Place dried flowers into the holes of the cardboard straws, adjusting the length of the stems with a pair of scissors.
