Dried Flower Trivet
Dry flowers from your garden to create this lovely summer and poetic trivet! It’s a great way to keep a memory of your walks in nature.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Prepare Your Surface
Apply a layer of white Gesso on the wooden surface to achieve a bright and regular finish.
In advance, prepare your dried flowers (place them in a book for 2 or 3 days to make them flat and well-dried).
Decopatch Technique
Apply a thin layer of glue varnish on the frame of the wooden support. Cut small pieces of Decopatch paper to place on the pre-glued area. Then cover the paper with a new layer of glue varnish. The support should be well-moistened with glue varnish when you place the paper, proceed gradually so the glue does not dry out.
Paint the Interior
Paint the inside of the frame with chalk paint or acrylic paint.
Add the Flowers
Position the flowers as you wish. You can place them even if the paint is not completely dry; this way, they will adhere better to the surface. Finally, place the glass plate on top, and there you go, it's finished!
