Discover a wonderful autumn activity to create a glowing mushroom with children!
Using a plastic egg, a half styrofoam ball, a small cardboard plate, and some lovely stickers, we will show you how to transform these materials into a stunning mushroom lantern.
An easy and fun craft to do this autumn with kids.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a mushroom lantern, you will need:
- a transparent plastic egg
- a half polystyrene ball (Ø 9.5 cm)
- a small white cardboard plate
- paint (red, white)
- a paintbrush
- round foam stamps
- a painter's palette
- a skewer stick
- leaf stickers
- moss
- an electric candle
- a glue gun
Step 1
Paint the half polystyrene ball with red paint and let it dry.
Tip: Insert the half ball onto a skewer to paint without getting your hands dirty!
Step 2
Use a small foam stamp and white paint to create pretty white circles on the mushroom.
Step 3
Step may be reserved for adults:
Glue the transparent plastic egg in the center of the small cardboard plate using a glue gun.
Then, glue the mushroom cap onto the transparent egg.
Step 4
Decorate the edge of the plate with glittery leaf stickers.
Step 5
Add a second row of tree leaf stickers to bring volume to the creation.
Step 6
Step may be reserved for adults :
Glue moss around the base of the mushroom to add a beautiful natural touch.
Step 7
Open the mushroom and then place an LED candle inside to transform it into a lantern, creating a beautiful decoration for autumn!
