Paper Butterflies
Discover an easy folding technique to make beautiful paper butterflies. A fun and inexpensive craft that will entertain children!
For this activity, you will need some square sheets of paper, pipe cleaners, and a few plastic beads.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Etape 1.
Here is the material needed to make paper butterflies:
- Colored paper sheets 20 x 20 cm (or another square format)
- Chenille stems
- Round beads (hole diameter = 4 mm)
Etape 2.
Fold a square sheet in an accordion style along the diagonal as shown in the picture beside.
Etape 3.
Fold a second square sheet in the same way as the first.
Etape 4.
Fold the 2 sheets and place one on top of the other as shown in the picture to the side.
Etape 5.
Attach the two sheets with a pipe cleaner.
This will be wrapped around the center of the sheets.
Etape 6.
Add beads to the ends of the pipe cleaners and then wrap them for a few centimeters.
Etape 7.
Fold out the wings on each side to give the butterfly a larger span.
Do not hesitate to slightly crumple the paper to give it maximum volume.
Your butterfly is now ready!
To hang your butterfly, simply attach a thread where the caterpillar is coiled.
Etape 8.
Decor idea: Paint a wooden mobile and then hang 5 small paper butterflies from it.
This lovely mobile will look great hanging in a child's room!
