Salad Spinner Paint - Snail
The salad spinner is super handy for painting with kids; we've tested it for you!
In this craft activity, we chose to use this technique to create funny colorful snails.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a snail, you need:
- A salad spinner
- Gouache
- A sheet of white cardstock
- A sheet of colored cardstock
- A glue stick
- A black permanent marker
- A pencil
- A pair of scissors
Optional (very practical accessories):
- A rotary cutter
- A cutting mat
Step 1:
To begin, cut out a circle of approximately Ø 14 cm.
Tip: Place a protective mat, then cut with a circular cutter to obtain nice circles.
Step 2:
Slide the circle into the salad spinner and drop gouache paint on the paper. Vary the colors for beautiful effects!
Tip: Use gouache paint so you can easily wash your spinner after use.
Step 3:
Close the lid, then vigorously turn the handle.
An adult can help the child hold the spinner while they turn the handle if needed!
Step 4 :
Open the salad spinner, remove the paper circle, and let it dry for about 1 hour.
Step 5:
Draw and then cut out the body of the snail from a colored cardstock.
Step 6:
Next, cut out two circles of approximately Ø 3 cm.
Tip: Place a protective mat, then cut out with a circular cutter to make nice circles.
Step 7:
Glue the two circles together like this to form the eyes. Then, draw the pupils and mouth with a black permanent marker.
Step 8:
Finally, stick the shell on the back of the snail.
