Santa Claus and His Macramé Beard
In this activity, children will enjoy making funny Santa Clauses using wooden sticks, macramé yarn, and paper.
An easy and original Christmas craft that will allow for the creation of lovely decorations for the end of the year festivities.
Activity to be carried out under the supervision of an adult.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a Santa Claus, you need:
- 3 large wooden sticks (15.5 cm)
- macrame cord (Ø 3.5 mm)
- a sturdy Christmas-themed card
- 2 mobile eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- 2 glittery pom poms
- adhesive dots
- a glue gun
- a pair of scissors
- a pencil
Step 1
Glue 3 wooden sticks in a triangle using adhesive dots.
Step 2
Choose a strong patterned card to create Santa Claus's hat.
Flip this card over and trace the outer contour of the triangle with a pencil.
Step 3
Cut out the triangle.
Step 4
Cut 17 pieces of macramé cord, each 40 cm long.
Step 5
Fold a wire in half and then attach it to the base of the triangle as shown in the picture.
Step 6
Attach all the threads to the base of the triangle to create Santa's beard.
If necessary, trim the beard with a pair of scissors.
Step 7
To add volume to the beard, you can spread apart the strands of macramé thread.
Step 8
Stick the triangular hat with adhesive dots.
Step 9
Glue 2 wiggle eyes and 2 pom-poms (one for the top of the hat, another for the nose) with the glue gun.
