Metal Dreamcatcher
The dreamcatcher perpetuates a Native American legend; woven like a spider's web, its purpose is to filter all dreams. The legend states that dreams pass through the web: good dreams head towards the feathers and come out to stay in the room, while bad dreams are trapped in the bead on the web until sunrise. At the first rays of light, the bad dreams will be burned.
Originally, the dreamcatcher was hung above a newborn's crib to protect them from nightmares; additionally, the feathers, swaying with each breath, would distract the child. For boys, eagle feathers symbolizing courage and strength were hung on the circle; for girls, owl feathers, symbols of wisdom, were used. Whether a decorative item or a symbol of beliefs, everyone interprets the dreamcatcher in their own way!
