Molding alginate for making body impressions (arms, feet, hands...) or objects (figurines, fruits...). Molding alginate is a natural, odorless powder derived from seaweed that mixes with water to create a paste (gel-like) that allows you to easily make a mold. Molding alginate enables the creation of highly precise casts (fingerprints, leaf veins...), and ensures very easy demolding.
How does it work?
Once the mixture is prepared in a container suitable for the size of your intended mold (a bucket can be used for this purpose), immerse the object to be molded inside. Allow a setting time of 5 to 6 minutes minimum; if you are molding a body part, it must remain still during the setting time. Once the paste has gelled, carefully remove the object, then fill the interior with a preparation of plaster, concrete, or wax (to be purchased separately). After adhering to the drying time, tear the alginate mold apart to reveal the cast.
Storage: 6 to 12 months.
