Pitt Charcoal Set 10 Pieces (Natural and Compressed Charcoal)
This 10-piece set includes everything an artist needs for working with charcoal. It combines both types of charcoal: natural and compressed, and three formats: sticks, hard sticks and pencils. This is the full range used in a life drawing studio.
Set contents (10 pieces)
- 4 natural charcoal sticks (Ø 3–6 mm): carbonised branches without binder. They produce light, bluish-grey marks that blend easily and erase well. Ideal for laying in and building up the drawing.
- 3 compressed charcoal sticks (extra soft, soft, medium): denser and more opaque charcoal. Use flat for quick coverage or on edge for sharp lines.
- 2 compressed charcoal pencils (soft, medium): wood-cased and sharpenable to a point. Perfect for details, outlines and accents without dirtying your hands.
- 1 kneaded eraser: pliable, it lifts pigment by dabbing instead of rubbing.
A complete working method:
Charcoal is traditionally taught in this order, which this set supports fully: start broad with natural charcoal, add dark masses with compressed sticks, refine with pencils, and draw light by lifting charcoal with the kneaded eraser.
