If you prefer a more playful experience, there are solvent-based “Marbling” paints that are used with basins of water. This is known as immersion painting; these paints are poured directly onto the water, where they float on the surface, and you dip your chosen object into the water. When you take it out, the paint will adhere to the object like a film, imprinting stunning marbled patterns on the surface of your material. These paints should be used in a well-ventilated area, handled by an adult, and tools and containers should be cleaned with white spirit.
