Here's another fun activity to do with children for Easter: create an Easter hen in a nest with her little chicks!
To make this lovely hen, just follow our easy tutorial in just a few steps. Not only is this activity fun, but it will also help your children develop their dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and creativity. Plus, they can decorate the house with their creation for the Easter celebration.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a hen you need:
- a cardboard roll
- a 5 cm polystyrene heart
- two multicolored feathers
- a beak and legs to plant
- a nest
- small chick caterpillars
- movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- white and red paint and a brush
- a black paint marker
- a hot glue gun
- a compass
Step 1:
To start, paint a cardboard roll with white paint and a 5 cm polystyrene heart with red paint.
Then let it dry for 15 minutes.
Step 2:
To form the hen's crest, glue the heart inside the roll using a hot glue gun.
Step 3:
WARNING this step may require the assistance of an adult.
Make three holes with a compass and push the beak and legs into these holes.
Step 4:

Next, make two new holes on each side with the compass and insert the two cut feathers to create the chicken's wings.
Step 5:
Glue two movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm with a glue gun.
Step 6:
Draw the hen's eyelashes with a black paint marker.
Step 7:
Glue the hen to the bottom of the straw nest with the glue gun.
Step 8:
And lastly, glue some little chicks in front of the hen with a glue gun.
