How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To decorate an apron you will need:
- A cotton apron
- Fabric markers
- Fabric finger paint
- Adhesive stencils for Father's Day/Mother's Day
- A paintbrush
Step 1:
Place the stencils of your choice on the apron and then color the inside with textile markers.
Attention: the ink from the markers may bleed through the cotton, we advise placing a sheet of paper behind the apron to protect your table.
Step 2:
Remove the stencils and draw the outlines with a black fabric marker.
Step 3:
Apply finger paint for textiles with a brush inside the children's hand.
Step 4:
Place your hand on the apron and press firmly to transfer the handprint.
Quickly wash the children's hands with soap and water before the paint has a chance to dry, then start again with another color.
Warning: the paint may seep through the cotton, so we recommend placing a sheet of paper behind the apron to protect your table.
Step 5
Set the paint after letting it dry for 24 hours in the open air.
Use an iron on the cotton setting (without steam) and press the reverse side of the apron for 5 minutes.
Once set, the paint withstands machine washing up to 40°C without pre-washing.
