Step 1: Shape the heart with the cookie cutter
Place a heart-shaped cookie cutter on a felting mat. Fill it with carded wool and then regularly poke it with a special felting needle. The fibers will intertwine and compact to create a solid and durable base.
Step 2: Compact the Two Sides
Once the wool has taken shape, turn the template over and repeat the felting process on the other side. Add wool gradually to achieve a regular thickness of about 1 cm. This step ensures a firm and uniform core.
Step 3: Refine the Edges
Gently remove the heart from the cookie cutter. Prick the edges while holding the needle slightly inclined. This action helps to firm up the sides and achieve a clean and elegant finish.
