Funny Paper Chickens
Discover our new activity themed around Easter that allows children to create cute little chickens with big feet. An easy and economical activity that only requires a few sheets of paper, feathers, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make these paper hens, you will need:
- patterned sturdy cards
- plain sturdy cards
- a pair of scissors
- caterpillars Ø 6 mm x 30 cm
- feathers
- moving eyes Ø 12 mm
- satin cord
- adhesive glue dots
- a hole punch
Step 1
Step 2
Use the template to cut out the body of the hen from a patterned sturdy card.
Cut out the beak and the comb from solid color sturdy cards.
Step 3
Place the body template over your patterned card and make 4 holes using a hole punch. These holes will be used to attach the chicken feet.
Step 4
Fold the body of the chicken as shown in the photo.
Step 5
To make the legs, fold 2 pipe cleaners of 30 cm in half and pass them through the holes.
Then twist the pipe cleaners to create the 2 legs.
Step 6
Glue 2 feathers onto the inner side using adhesive gel dots.
If necessary, trim the base of the feathers with a pair of scissors.
Step 7
Cut a piece of satin cord about 20 cm long and then make a double knot as shown in the photo.
Step 8
Block the cord between a stick of adhesive gel and the paper crest of the hen.
Step 9
Place another adhesive gel dot at the base of the crest and then close the body of the hen.
Step 10
Glue the beak and eyes of the hen with adhesive gel dots to complete your creation.
