How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make giant dragonflies, you need:
- large chenilles (50 cm - Ø 6 mm)
- colored wooden beads (ref. 04641 - beads with large holes to easily thread onto the chenilles)
- ring pom-poms
- moveable eyes Ø 18 mm
- gel adhesive dots
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Choose a colored caterpillar of 50 cm and then fold it in half.
This will be used to create the body of the dragonfly.
Step 2
Thread a pom-pom onto the ring and place it in the center of the folded pipe cleaner.
This pom-pom, in addition to being cute, will help block the beads on the pipe cleaner.
Step 3
Thread approximately 6 large wooden beads onto the 2 strands of the chenille.
Step 4
Choose 2 more colored caterpillars to make the wings of the dragonfly.
Shorten one caterpillar by 10 cm with a pair of scissors.
Step 5
Form two circles with the caterpillars (one large and one smaller).
To do this, simply join and twist the two ends of one caterpillar together.
Step 6
Pass the body of the caterpillar through the small circle.
Step 7
"Flatten" the small circle and then twist on either side of the central caterpillar to shape the wings.
Step 8
Repeat the previous 2 steps with the large circle to form the second pair of wings.
Step 9
Thread one last colored bead onto the central chenille.
Step 10
Twist the 2 strands of the central chenille to obtain a single strand.
Step 11
Wrap the central caterpillar to create the head of the dragonfly.
Step 12
Stick 2 moveable eyes Ø 18 mm using the adhesive gel dots.
