Create a fun Halloween haunted house with your children starting from age 3, using wooden sticks and creative Halloween accessories.
For this Halloween kids activity, you will need 9 large wooden sticks, solid gouache, Halloween stickers, and small alphabet stickers to personalize this colorful haunted mansion. Don't forget to add a fun little detail with a mini witch's broom.
An ideal activity for Halloween, to be done with children at home or at school.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To create a haunted house for Halloween, you will need:
- 9 large wooden sticks (15.5 cm)
- solid gouache sticks
- Halloween character stickers
- bat stickers
- alphabet stickers
- a mini witch broomstick
- linen thread
- masking tape
- a glue gun
Step 1:
Align 6 large wooden sticks, then hold them in place with 2 pieces of masking tape.
Step 2:
Color two wooden sticks with orange poster paint and one stick with purple poster paint.
Note: solid poster paint dries very quickly!
Step 3:
Glue the 2 orange sticks together using a hot glue gun to create the roof of the haunted house.
Glue the purple stick perpendicularly to the 6 aligned sticks, about 2 cm from the edge.
Step 4:
Stick Halloween character stickers above the purple stick.
Step 5:
Stick small bat stickers on the roof of the house.
Step 6:
Complete the decoration by writing "Halloween" on the purple stick using stickers.
Step 7:
Glue a witch's broom on the side using the glue gun.
