Bats with Cardboard Straws
A quick and easy Halloween craft you might like? Then grab some paper, cardboard straws, glue, and scissors to make colorful bats. The kids will love this activity!

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a bat you will need :
- A bat model to print
- 2 googly eyes Ø 1.2 cm
- White glue
- Colorful cardboard straws
- Black sturdy cards (300 g/m²)
- A white POSCA marker
- A pair of scissors
Step 1
First, cut out the printable bat pattern.
Click on "technical sheet" below the main photo at the top of the page to print our template.
Step 2
Use the bat shape as a stencil and trace the outlines with a pencil on the black cardstock (300 g/m²).
Step 3
Cut along the line using your pair of scissors.
Step 4
Choose the colored cardboard straws you will use, then cut them into small pieces to cover the entire surface of the wings.
Step 5
Glue the straws onto the bat's wings with white glue.
Step 6
To draw the mouth, use a white POSCA marker.
Step 7
All you have left to do is to glue the moveable eyes Ø 1.2 cm once again with white glue.
Step 8
Vary the colors and patterns of straws to create different bats and decorate your walls!
Tip: You can also hang them with a transparent thread by piercing a small hole at the top of the head.
