An easy autumn-themed activity to do with children!
In this craft, we will decorate a log with paper, a pompom, eyes, and markers to create a funny little hedgehog!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a hedgehog you need:
- A round wooden log
- A brown pompom
- A sheet of thick chocolate-colored paper
- Two googly eyes (Ø 1.8 cm)
- Orange and black markers
- A screw eye
- Natural linen thread
- White glue
- A pair of scissors
Step 1:
To begin, cut out approximately 14 rectangles of 3.5 x 1.5 cm from a sheet of thick chocolate-colored paper.
Step 2:
Fold the rectangles in half and stick them with white glue onto a log of wood. Leave a blank space for the hedgehog's head.
Step 3:
Using white glue, attach two googly eyes Ø 1.8 cm.
Step 4:
Next, glue a brown pompom to form the hedgehog's nose.
Step 5:
And finally, draw the two small cheeks with an orange marker and the mouth with a black marker.
Step 6:
WARNING this step may require the assistance of an adult.
To hang your creation, screw a metal hook into the edge of the wooden log.
Step 7:
Attach a piece of linen string to the hook.
