How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a lucky eye you will need:
- a wooden log to hang
- linen thread
- a graphite pencil
- POSCA markers (light blue, dark blue, black, white)
- shiny beads
- varnish
- a brush
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Draw 3 circles on the wooden log using a graphite pencil.
Draw the circles to create rings of approximately similar width.
Step 2
Color the inside of the rings with POSCA markers. From the outside to the inside: dark blue, white, light blue, black.
Note: POSCA markers are convenient as they provide good coverage and are easy to handle. However, you can also complete this activity using acrylic paint and a brush!
Step 3
Cut a piece of linen thread about 30 cm long and then pass it through the hole in the log.
Step 4
Thread beautiful beads onto the two pieces of cord and then tie a double knot.
Step 5
Apply a thick layer of varnish to the wooden log to protect your good luck charm from the effects of weather.
Tip: Apply the varnish in 2-3 coats for an ultra-glossy effect!
Allow to dry for 60 minutes between coats.
