Materials

To make a funny memo, you will need:

- a round cork board (Ø 19.5 cm)

- a wooden moustache

- 3 wooden clothespins (7 cm)

- 1 wooden dome

- 2 semicircular polystyrene balls (Ø 5.5 cm)

- a black paint marker

- a black caterpillar

- a glue gun or wood glue

- an HB pencil

- a notepad

- 2 black metal clips

- a pair of scissors

Step 1

Decorate the wooden mustache with a black paint marker, then draw 2 black circles on the styrofoam half-balls to create the eyes of the character.

Step 2

Glue 2 clothespins onto the central line of the cork board, letting them extend a bit as shown in the photo.

Note: We used a hot glue gun for instant adhesion, but you can also use wood glue or plain glue with the children for this activity.

Step 3

Glue a wooden dome and the mustache onto a clothespin.

Step 4

Turn the cork support over and glue the two eyes and the clothespin to create the character's face.

Step 5

Cut small pieces of black pipe cleaner (2-3 cm) and insert them into the polystyrene to create eyelashes and enhance the funny side of the character.

Step 6

To hang your memo on a wall, here’s a simple tip: use two metal clips to attach it at the top of the cork board. This way, it will be easy to hang with 2 small nails (for better balance)!
