Mermaid Keychains

To make a mermaid keychain, you will need:

- 3 wooden beads (1 round bead Ø 3 cm and 2 hexagonal beads of 1 and 1.5 cm)

- approximately 40 cm of waxed cotton cord Ø 1 mm

- 1 thread pompom with ring

- 1 broken ring Ø 3 cm

- glitter

- varnish and a brush

- fine-tipped POSCA markers

Pour different colored diamond glitter into several containers (large enough to dip the wooden beads in).

Apply a layer of clear varnish on a hexagonal wooden bead.

Once the varnish is applied, immediately immerse the bead in a container filled with diamond glitter.

The wet varnish will act as a glue, allowing for a bead completely covered in glitter.

Apply a second thick coat of varnish over the glitter to securely fix it in place.

Repeat the last 3 steps with the second wooden hexagonal bead to obtain 2 glittery beads.

Draw the faces of mermaids on round wooden beads using fine-tipped POSCA markers.

Cut a 40 cm piece of waxed cotton cord and then place the thread pompon with metallic ring at the center of the cord.

Fold the cord in half and then thread the two ends through each of the beads:

- first through the smallest hexagonal bead

- then through the second hexagonal bead

- finally through the large round bead

Once the cord is through the beads, tie a double knot around a broken ring with a diameter of 3 cm.

For a neat finish, create a loop with the cord and then cut off the excess cord.

To secure the knot, we recommend applying a small amount of varnish on the knot of the loop and letting it dry for about 30 minutes.

Once attached to your keys, the glittering little mermaids will follow you everywhere!
