What if you created beautiful candle holders to decorate your home? With some air-dry clay, children can easily shape unique candle holders that are both practical and decorative.
This craft activity is perfect for stimulating creativity and developing fine motor skills: you knead, shape, smooth, and then decorate however you like! Here, we offer you two models:

a solid blue candle holder with free and organic shapes,

a white candle holder decorated with blue stripes for a graphic and elegant effect.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Step 1
Prepare the air-drying clay and form a ball. Then shape this ball into a cylinder about 15 cm long.
Step 2
Shape a cylinder and widen the base to provide stability to the candlestick.
Step 3
Gently press a candle base into the dough to create the location.
Step 4
Smooth the edges of the candle holder with a bit of water to harmonize the shape.
Let it dry for 24 to 48 hours depending on the thickness.
Step 5
Paint and decorate as desired (stripes, dots, bright colors...) with acrylic paint. Then varnish the candle holders once the paint is dry, to protect and give a nice shiny finish.
