Octopus with a cardboard tube
In this summer craft activity, children will learn to make lovely octopuses using toilet paper rolls, wool, and a pair of scissors.
This easy craft on the sea theme will create a lovely family moment while also developing the little ones' fine motor skills!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make an octopus, you will need:
- A cardboard roll
- Multicolored wool
- Two movable eyes (Ø 2.5 cm)
- Paint and a brush
- Strong glue
- A black paint marker
- A pair of scissors
Step 1:
To start, paint the cardboard tube with paint of your choice.
Then let it dry for 15 minutes.
Step 2:
Cut strips of about 5 cm all around the cup to create the octopus's tentacles.
Step 3:
Then fold the strips and slightly fold back the ends.
Step 4:
Cut a slit at the top of the cardboard roll with a pair of scissors.
Step 5:
Insert multicolored wool into the slot and tie a knot to hold it in place.
Step 6 :
Wrap the wool around the cup and tie a knot to secure it again.
Step 7:
Using strong glue, attach two movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm onto the wool.
Step 8:
And finally, draw small circles on the tentacles of the octopus to form the suckers.
