Owl Artwork with Driftwood and Tissue Paper
In this new craft activity, children will create an owl artwork with a natural design!
To do this, they will need to combine cutting and gluing, thereby developing their dexterity.
This lovely artwork can then be displayed on the dresser in their room!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a board you will need:
- A wooden support 30 x 30 cm
- Wooden floating discs
- Two half polystyrene balls diameter 6 cm
- Adhesive letters
- Colored paper sheets (130 g/m²)
- Tissue paper sheets
- Glue varnish and a brush
- Raw glue
- A pair of scissors + pinking shears
- A black permanent marker
Step 1:
Cut approximately 50 squares of light green tissue paper and 50 squares of dark green, varying the sizes.
Step 2:
Use glue varnish to stick the squares of tissue paper onto the entire surface of the wooden support using a brush. To do this, apply the glue varnish on the wood, stick the squares of tissue paper, and then apply another layer of varnish on top.
Once the surface of the support is covered, let the varnish dry for about 30 minutes.
Step 3 :
Cut out the shape of a branch from a sheet of brown tissue paper and then glue it onto the support.
Let dry for 30 minutes.
Step 4:
Glue driftwood discs together with hot glue to form an owl.
Step 5:
On a sheet of blue paper (130 g/m²):
- Cut out a triangle to form the beak.
- Cut out two circles using pinking shears.
Step 6:
Glue the paper shapes with glue sticks
Step 7:
Draw the owl's eyes on the half-balls using a permanent marker and then glue them as shown below.
Step 8 :
Cut out the owl's wings from a sheet of blue paper and then glue them onto the wooden discs.
Step 9:
Customize the board by writing a first name with adhesive letters.
