Paper Christmas Angels

To make a paper cherub, you will need:

- 2 sheets of origami paper 15 x 15 cm (or 20 x 20 cm)

- 1 wooden bead Ø 2.5 cm

- approximately 30 cm of satin cord Ø 2 mm

- 2 googly eyes Ø 8 mm

- glue

- scissors

- permanent marker

Before starting, select 2 sheets of origami paper in the color or patterns of your choice.

Fold the first sheet in an accordion style with intervals of about 1 to 1.5 cm.

"Close" the accordion and then fold the paper in half.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the second sheet of paper.

Cut approximately 1.5 cm off each end of one of the 2 sheets.

This will give you one small and one large "butterfly".

Cut a piece of satin cord (Ø 2 mm) about 30 to 40 cm long, then thread both ends of the cord through a wooden bead (Ø 2.5 cm).

Place the bead halfway along the cord to form a loop.

Place the 2 paper "butterflies" against each other, the large one facing down and the small one facing up, as shown in the photo beside.

Then, encircle the 2 "butterflies" using the loop formed by the cord.

Slide the bead towards the paper to tighten the loop, then make a double knot.

The double knot made keeps the wooden bead in place.

Glue the 2 parts of the "big butterfly" together to create a fan.

The cherub is taking shape!

Glue 2 movable eyes Ø 8 mm onto the wooden bead to create the cherub's face.

If you wish, you can also draw a mouth using a permanent marker.

All that's left to do is to tie a double knot with the cord so you can hang the little angels on the Christmas tree or anywhere else in the house!
