Paper Snail

To make a paper snail, you will need:

- 5 sheets of colored paper 130 g/m² (25 x 35 cm)

- a pair of scissors or a paper cutter

- a 30 cm pipe cleaner

- 2 googly eyes Ø25 mm or 2 wooden beads Ø8 mm

- a hole punch

- a tube of glue

With a pair of scissors or a paper cutter, cut 5 colored strips of 4 cm x 25 cm (the width of a sheet).

Then shorten the strips to obtain the following lengths:

- one strip of 25 cm for the body of the snail

- 4 strips of 11, 14, 17, and 21 cm for the shell of the snail

Apply glue to the ends of the largest piece of paper (25 cm), then stick the two sides together, slightly pressing everything to form the body of the snail.

For each of the 4 other strips, join and glue the ends to create a paper circle.

Then glue the circles inside each other, from the smallest to the largest.

Glue the shell onto the body of the snail with the white glue stick.

Make 2 small holes spaced about 1 cm apart using a hole punch at the head of the snail (near the fold).

Cut a 30 cm caterpillar in half, then insert it into the 2 drilled holes to create the snail's "antennas".

To make the snail's eyes, you have 2 options: 

- insert an 8 mm wooden bead at both ends of the pipe cleaner and then draw the eyes with a black marker.

- stick 2 wiggle eyes (25 mm) onto the ends of the pipe cleaner with double-sided tape or a glue gun.

Vary the colors to make lots of funny snails!
